Hiroshi Ozawa Sensei Passes Hachidan
Hiroshi Ozawa Sensei a teacher and good friend to many BKA members has achieved the coveted and very difficult Hachidan.
Sensei Lived for some time in the UK where he helped to develop kendo in a number of clubs, and has visited to give further support on many occasions. He has helped many UK kendoka both here and in Japan. Most recently he has been coming to the UK to teach at his highly successful seminar at KASHI NO KI (One of the highlights of the kendo year for me).
I first met Sensei at the televised BUDOSAI in Newcastle where he made a great impression on me with his energetic and powerful kendo (Whilst this was well over 20 years ago he was already NANADAN KYOSHI).
This was very memorable for me as it was also my first experience of the Mizoguchi Ha Itto Ryu Heiho. He and Minoa Sensei performed an Embu for the program using Kata swords.
I’m sure that we can all learn from his great determination, and would like to congratulate Sensei on his success .
