The 2010 AGMs will be held on Saturday 22 May at Caroline Chisholm School, Wooldale Centre for Learning, Wooldale Road, Wootton Fields, Northampton, NN4 6TP.

SCHEDULE FOR THE PRE-AGM PRACTICES AND THE AGMS

(* The Jodo Bu wishes to make clear that the pre-AGM practice of “Kenjutsu” offered by the Jodo Bu is not to be confused in any way with the current Kendo Kata as practiced as part of the Kendo syllabus.  It is a set of kata within the Shindo Muso Ryu Jyojutsu school using bokken against bokken and part of the Koryu, as distinct from the Seitei, Jodo Bu syllabus)

All BKA members (whether iaidoka, jodoka or kendoka) are welcome to join the kenjutsu practice. If kendo members would like to try kenjutsu as well as participating in the kendo practice then please come along to the first hour of kenjutsu.

The pre-AGM practices will be in the Main School Hall (kendo) and the Sports Hall (kenjutsu). Both of these halls have sprung wooden floors and are within about 25 metres of each other.

• The Kendo DRC meeting and Kendo BU AGM will be held in the Lecture Theatre.
• The Iaido and Jodo DRC meetings and Iaido/Jodo Bu AGMs will be held in the 6^th Form Study Centre.
• The NC AGM will be in the Main School Hall.

Elections will be held for the following posts:

• Iai Bucho
• Iai Grading Officer
• Jodo Bucho
• Jodo Events Officer
• Jodo Grading Officer
• Kendo Events Officer
• Kendo Grading Officer
• NC Vice Chair
• NC Membership Secretary

The Bu Officer elections will take place during the Bu AGMs. The NC officer elections will be held during the NC AGM.

The closing date for nominations is 7 April 2010. Completed nomination forms (available in the ‘Resources’ section of the BKA website) should be received by the NC Secretary by this date, either via post or email.

AGM Agendas

Members are invited to respond in writing/email to items on the provisional AGM agendas, to suggest AoB and submit any resolutions. These should be received by 16 April 2010.

Written/email responses to the Bu AGM agendas should be sent to the relevant Bucho.

Written/email responses to the NC AGM agenda should be sent to the NC Secretary.
