The University Taikai will take place over two days, on the 20th and 21st of March.  The schedule of events will be as follows:

Saturday March 20th:
9:00 – Hall Opens – Matriculation Check
- Teams Event
- Women’s Event
5:00 – Hall Closes

Sunday March 21st:
10:00 -Hall Opens
- Kyu Grade Competition
- Dan Grade Competition
3:30 – Hall Closes

Now, concerning entry details.  For the teams event, each University is allowed two teams of five, each out of a named squad of seven as per IKF rules. (ie. When registering up to seven people can be named for each team, but only 5 of seven will compete, this will allow for last minute cancellations by people or injury which would not allow one of your squad to compete).

For the Individual competition, each university will be allowed up to 5 people per event (ie 5 for women’s, five for dan grade and 5 for kyu grade for a total of maximum 15 competitors in the 3 individual competitions).

The Women’s will be an open grade competition.

All competitors must be matriculated students at a British University, and members of a recognized kendo federation.

Online registration should be open within a week from now on our website.  I will notify you all when this occurs.
