British Kendo Association

The minutes of the latest Kendo Bu meeting have been published today here.

Highlights of decisions made include:

• Mano Takashi, 6 Dan Renshi, had agreed to become squad trainer
• Squad meetings will move to London in an effort to recruit more members
• The number of referee seminars required for grading at 3rd Dan or higher is clarified
• Kata requirements for gradings after Oct 2009 are confirmed
• IKET should go ahead in Edinburgh in June 2010
• £10 kendo levy should be kept, but instead of a permanent National Coach, it should be used to bring over people at 8^th Dan level (this is subject to approval by the Dojo Rep’s Commitee)
