Kata Seminar

A two day seminar on Kendo Kata (Nihon Kendo no Kata) for grades up to Rokudan, is being planned for 20th & 21st June. The event, to be held at Hizen Dojo (Somerstown Community Centre, close to Euston and Kings Cross railway stations in London) will be taught by:

  • J. Howell Sensei Kyoshi Nana Dan
  • J. Humm Sensei Renshi Nana Dan

10.15 – 13.00 Shinza Renshu* (Examination Training) Howell & Humm Sensei

* SHOSHINSHA will focus on:
IKKYU – Application, posture, stance and form
SHODAN – NIDAN Cutting distance/line, cause and reaction
SANDAN – YONDAN Purpose/reason, timing and projection of control
GODAN – ROKUDAN Interactive relationship, rational/synchronization of movement, breathing and intent.
